After a long anticipated return to school, we re-opened our school on August 28th. Our first month back at school has gone very well. We have all adjusted to the new procedures and pre-cautionary measures. A huge effort has been made by all staff and students to keep our school as safe as possible. Well done to everyone involved. Our 3rd class students celebrated their First Holy Communion. It was a terrific day enjoyed by all. Congratulations to all of the boys and girls who celebrated on September 19th. Sincere thanks to Fr. Flynn, the parents council and all of the staff who prepared the students for their special day. Our first staff meeting of the school year is this afternoon. School will finish at the earlier time of 2.20pm for 1st-6th class students. We are very grateful to all of the parents and school community who are being very vigilant of the new social distancing and Covid-19 measures we have incorporated into our school life.
As this first month of the school year draws to a close, we'd like to acknowledge a huge change which is about to happen in our school. This week is Mr. O' Connell's last week as our school principal. We wish him every success in Mitchelstown as he takes up his new principal position. We look forward to Mr. Molan taking on the new principal's role, we know the school will continue to flourish and progress under his careful watch.
