First and Second Class School Tour
The boys and girls of Mrs Quinlan's class travelled to Lismore Heritage Centre on Wednesday for their school tour.
They had a fun-filled busy day, starting with a trail through the woods. They learned a little history about the gatehouse and the people who lived there before creating a small drama in the roles of the Kings, Queens, the assassin, the judge and the farmers.
From historians to scientists, the children used pooters to collect little minibeasts and learned their names.
Then we all hopped back onto the bus and returned to the town to have our lunch. The sun shone down on us as we enjoyed eating our food sitting on picnic rugs and benches in the park.
After lunch the children worked as teams to solve puzzles in the park before heading upstairs in the Heritage Centre to carry out some experiments. We even made our very own Marvelous Medicines. That was fun!
They finished their day in the really big playground before enjoying a nice ice-cream on the way home.
The children were super. Well done 1st and 2nd class. :)

Junior and Senior Infant School Tour
Junior and Senior Infants had a fantastic school tour on Wednesday. They visited Leahy's Open Farm. The children played on the climbing frame, the indoor and outdoor play grounds. They got to hold a snake, they petted mice, fed goats and saw many animals. They ziplined and got a ride on the barrel train. A wonderful day was had by all. We were very fortunate to have fabulous weather and we enjoyed a tasty picnic lunch after our activities.
