Congratulations to the players and coaches of the Junior, U16 and U12 teams who were very successful this year. The U12 team won a hurling Shield for their club. The U16 hurling and football teams had the honour of winning county titles for their parish. The Junior A team won a hurling title also. Congratulations to all involved for their passion and dedication. The children of Scoil Teampall Toinne were delighted to see the cup and congratulate the players.
Cycle Right: 5th and 6th class were very fortunate to take part in a cycling skills course hosted by members of the Carrick on Suir Cycling club. The children learned about how to be safe on the bike when starting and stopping. They also learned specific hand signals that are necessary for safe cycling on the roads. Hope this specialised skills class will make the children aware of the importance of wearing helmets and taking care on public roads.
We gave our Christmas Shoebox gifts right into the hands of some of the world’s most vulnerable children – many of whom will receive no other gift this Christmas. For some it’s the first gift they’ve ever received.
It’s hope, it’s God’s love, it’s joy and excitement – It’s the whole of Christmas wrapped up in a Shoebox ! A huge thank you and well done to everyone who participated in the Shoe Box appeal Junior Infants transformed into Santa's workshop this fortnight as the infants wrote and posted letters to Santa. They also created Santa's sleigh in the socio-dramatic area. I'm sure all of Santa's little helpers in the infants will be on Santa's good list after all their hard work this fortnight.
Children from 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th class worked together to learn about litter and the importance of handling litter responsibly. In conjunction with the Knoclmealdown Active Environmental Awareness competition. The children created a fantastic video including sketches which the they wrote and performed. The sketches are very funny and they depict real life situation of how litter can be mismanaged. The 1st and 2nd class created their own litter song which they also performed in the video.
Congratulations to everyone involved. |
