What a glorious week...
Thankfully the sun shone down on Scoil Teampall Toinne this week. The sunny weather lifted everyone's spirits and the children loved playing on the pitch at break times.
The 5th and 6th class were busy tending to their seeds in the hot weather. Check on their Incredible Edibles project on the homepage.
Our Junior Infant open day was a terrific success. All the Infants who visited our school met their new teacher. The parents enjoyed a tour of the school and refreshments in the school hall. Many thanks to everyone who was involved.
First Holy Communion will take place tomorrow, Saturday at 11 a.m. in our local Church. We hope too see you all there and best of luck to all the children and families involved.
School is closed today as it is a polling station.
First Holy Communion-May 26th
Refreshments will be served in the Hall after the communion on Saturday May 26th. In the past, parents of 1st and 3rd class have baked for the occasion. Everyone would greatly appreciate if this happened this year also. All baking can be dropped to the Parochial hall on Saturday 26th May before 11 o clock. If you can bake for the cake sale or drop in some buns/ cakes, please text with details to a member of the Parents Council on the following numbers: Deirdre 0872375817/ Lisa 0865821606.
A special visitor...
First and Second class welcomed Mahdee's mum to their classroom this morning. Nilema spoke to the class about Ramadan which will commence tomorrow. The children listened to a story about Curious George and his experiences of Ramadan. The children tasted some special treats which Muslims like to eat when breaking their fast at sunset. The children got stickers and listened to a special song about Ramadan also.
Congratulations to the teams and coaches who traveled from our school to Two Mile Borris on April 19th. Scoil Teampall Toinne entered three teams into the blitz. Girls from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th were selected to play and they played tremendously well. One of the teams reached the semi-final of the competition but they were narrowly beaten in the final minutes of the game.
The teachers in our school will regularly post new blog posts keeping you up to date with all that is happening in Scoil Teampall Toinne.
