A special word of thanks to Barry Quinlan, who paid a visit to children in 1st to 6th class this week to share what his work as a Manufacturing Engineer entails and even brought in models of replacement hips and knees. The children learned how these replacement joints are created using a huge machine. The children had great fun using beebots and the very unfriendly dog, who kept catapulting balls at them. Barry further spoiled the boys and girls with their very own goodie bags. Everyone at STT really enjoyed Barry's visit and look forward to seeing him again soon. Thank you Barry.

Our school has been a hive of activity this past fortnight as we have been exploring a variety of STEM activities for Science week. Each day we have had a different interactive activity which all the classes have thoroughly enjoyed. Children enjoyed workshops administered by Lismore Mobile Science, Maths/trails, Nature trails, online webinars, project work, in class experiments, STEM fair/games and guest speakers over the past fortnight. Take a look at some of the pictures and videos exhibiting some of the great work that has taken place. Today our school kindly donated multiple Shoeboxes to the annual Shoebox appeal which will bring joy to many less fortunate children this Christmas. Many thanks to everyone who took the time to prepare and donate a shoebox. Reminder that our School's Céilí takes place tonight in Ballyporeen Community Hall. At the very bottom of this post their is a short video clip of the 3rd and 4th class dancing brilliantly as they got into the spirit of the Céilí. We hope that everyone will follow their lead and have their dancing shoes on in support of the current development project taking place in the school. Christmas Shoebox appealCéilí Dancing |
